Cupping Therapy
What Is It?
Using cups to induce suction on the skin, cupping therapy is a traditional alternative treatment that decreases fascial tension, decreases inflammation, enhances blood circulation, and encourages overall recovery.
In the traditional method of cupping therapy, cupping creates a vacuum that draws the skin and underlying tissues into the cup. Suction cups and a hand-held pump will be used in modern cupping therapy. By increasing blood flow, decreasing inflammation, and encouraging fascial relaxation, cupping therapy is a common tool to assist in recovery. It is frequently used to reduce both muscular and fascial limitations, assist with neural compression, and enhance blood circulation.
